- What is the maximum weight weight capacity of the pedal cars?
The total weight capacity of our pedal vehicles is 50 pounds. Loads which are heavier than this (and children, no matter how cute they are) can nullify your warranty and break or damage the vehicle.
- Is the paint child-safe?
American-Retro not only uses "non-toxic" materials in all of our vehicles, but we put our products through a rigorous testing procedure to ensure our pedal vehicles comply with the requirements of the Federal Hazardous Substances Acts (16 CFR 1500 and 16 CFR 1303), and the Standard Consumer Safety Specifications on Toy Safety (ASTM F 963-96a). American-Retro has complied with CPSC and CPSA regulations and bans on products bearing lead-containing paint. We make sure there are no harmful lead contaminates in our toys and they are safe for children.
- What are the pedal cars made of?
Our pedal cars are made from heavy gauge steel. Additionally, most of the other parts and decorations are also made from metal, with the exception of the "Jalopy" models which do have some plastic decorations.
- How will my purchase be shipped?
We ship via Federal Express Ground Service in the continental United States. All other destinations will be considered on a case by case basis.
- How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Your order will arrive within 7-10 business days, depending on how far you are away from the warehouse in California.
- Do you ship via expedited delivery?
Expedited delivery is not included in our free shipping offer, but if you would like to request it, we can quote you the extra cost to deliver your order faster than ground service. Please contact Customer Service for more information.
- Do you ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or international and overseas destinations?
We sure do! Due to the high cost of shipping to these locations, we can't include any destination outside of the Continental United States in our offer for free shipping. Please contact Customer Service to obtain a quote for the extra cost involved in sending your pedal cars to these locations.
- Where do I get replacement parts if something breaks?
Please contact us about replacement parts. Any part that breaks during the warranty period will be replaced free of charge.
- Would you be able to make a customized car/cooler/clock with my own logo or design on it?
Yes. Please contact Customer Service for a custom quote. Custom orders usually require a lot of 250 or more items.
Alternately, you can also order generic, or plain colored pedal cars or coolers in your choice of colors and apply your own decals and artwork if you need less than the minimum custom order amount.
- What is the warranty?
There is a 90-day limited warranty for all pedal vehicles against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 90 days from receipt by the original end-user purcharser. For more information, please rerfer to the Warranty and Policy page.
- What if there is damage to the vehicle during shipping?
Domestic orders are insured during shipment. Please contact Customer Support immediately for instructions if there is damage to the box or items in your order.
- What if there is a defect in the vehicle?
American-Retro's 90-day warranty covers defects. Please completely inspect the vehicle within 10 days of receipt. Contact Customer Support immediately if you find a defect in the product.
- How long do I have before making a damage or defect claim?

- Can I return my purchase?
All returns must be in the original box with the original packing. Contact Customer Support within 10 days of receipt of product for instructions.

No, all information from your registration and orders at the American-Retro web site are kept strictly confidential. We do not share your email, personal information, or order history with any other person or business. We do not provide aggregate statistical data from your usage or orders to any other person, business or organization.
In short, nobody sees it but the people at our offices who are filling your order.
